A 42 year old PhD student in the UK is about to begin life saving treatment for cancer.
This page has been created to support a 42 year old PhD student in the UK who is about to begin life saving treatment for cancer.
She has consistently given her time to voluntary work and fundraising for others.
She has been in the UK for over three years, dedicated to her studies and working towards the completion of her PhD, with plans to return home to Indonesia once finished.
Gentle, kind, sincere and deeply considerate, she is someone who quietly gives far more than she takes.
She has recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of non Hodgkin lymphoma.
Treatment will begin next week.

What lies ahead
Her treatment will involve intensive chemotherapy over approximately 4 to 5 months, provided there are no complications.
This will include hospital stays of 5 to 6 days every three weeks, alongside ongoing monitoring. At times, these stays may be extended if her immune system becomes particularly low.
While her prognosis is hopeful, the treatment itself will be physically and emotionally demanding.
She will be taking a break from her PhD during this time, which may affect her financial support.
As an international student, she does not have access to the same level of wider support systems that others might rely on, making this period especially challenging.
Her faith remains a quiet source of strength for her.

Support from family
At a time like this, being close to loved ones matters deeply.
Her mother and sister will travel from Indonesia to be with her and support her through treatment.
They will be staying in a family home where they are welcomed as guests for as long as needed, so accommodation costs are not a concern.
However, the cost of travel, visas and being away from home for an extended period is significant, particularly given the difference in living costs between Indonesia and the UK.
What support will help with
This fundraiser is to ease the wider financial pressures around her treatment, allowing her to focus fully on recovery.
Support will go towards:
A Moment of What This is Really About
At its heart, this is about something deeper.
It is about her feeling loved, supported, valued, seen and cared for during a time when life has suddenly become very uncertain.
It is about knowing that she is not facing this alone.

Why this matters
This is about more than treatment.
It is about ensuring she is supported and not alone during one of the most vulnerable times of her life.
It is about giving her the space to focus on healing, without the added weight of financial strain.
Privacy
She has chosen to remain anonymous beyond her immediate community. Those who know her will recognise her and we trust her privacy will be respected.
With gratitude
Every contribution, whether large or small, will make a meaningful difference.
Many of the costs associated with her treatment and support have already begun and funds from this campaign will only become available once the target is reached.
If you are unable to give financially, prayers and messages of support are deeply appreciated and valued.
Sharing this page is also a powerful way to help.
Any excess funds not required for her care will be donated to support others facing cancer.

Thank you for being part of the circle holding her through this time.
