Aim

We aim to refurbish a property to be used by patients post hospital care who are temporarily unable to return to their normal homes.

In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals found themselves overwhelmed with patients. The influx of cases forced hospitals to prioritise emergency cases, resulting in a backlog of patients awaiting surgeries and critical care. Fast forward to 2023, and hospitals are still grappling with this backlog, compounded by new COVID-19 cases and patients who are in need of care but don't require a hospital bed. Unfortunately, there's often no suitable place to accommodate these patients. Examples of such patients are those recovering from strokes and accidents who have received initial treatment but require a safe environment for recovery—typically not available in their own homes.

Our journey began amidst the challenges of the pandemic in 2020 when we swiftly established a vaccination centre to address long queues of people waiting to receive the jab. We successfully vaccinated thousands, alleviating the discomfort of waiting in inclement weather for a potentially life-saving jab, saving jobs and lives in the process, we hope. During lockdown, we were among the first to offer antigen testing for travel purposes and later provided free PCR testing to repatriate individuals back to their home countries.

Despite the end of the pandemic, the NHS is still struggling. Strikes, reduced incentives for doctors, and a rising demand for care in an aging UK population continue to burden the healthcare system. We have devised a plan that could set a benchmark for other boroughs in the UK—a plan beginning with the refurbishment of a some-what run down, large10-bed property that presently sits empty due to its deteriorating condition. With your support, we aim to restore this property to a high standard. The property owner benefits from having their property revitalised, and we secure a 10-year lease with full operational control on flexible terms.

The local hospitals via borough will provide the funnel for patients. They will also provide payments to cover running costs for housing patients until they recover, and the facility. Staffing and CQC registration are already in progress and will be finalised in the coming months.

With your help, we can not only serve our community but also free up critical hospital beds, which are both costly and, more importantly, life-saving for the NHS. Ten beds may not seem like much, but when they are rotated 100 times a year, it could make the world of a difference to thousands of patients. By freeing up beds in hospitals, this also translates directly into saving lives. Similar initiatives have yielded remarkable results in the UK, but often with a more commercial focus. What sets us apart is that we come from the healthcare industry, with experience in the NHS and a team of dedicated volunteers who understand the needs of our patients.  We have also found a care manager who has decades of experience running both domestic and care homes in the UK.

As a company, we will be covering initial setup and legal costs and also to provide a enough funds to cover at least three to four months to allow for renovations and permissions. What we need help with is covering the repair costs, which include new carpets, full wall painting, damp removal, a complete overhaul of bathrooms and fixtures, and the purchase of essential furniture, beds, and kitchen equipment for patients.

Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of many. Your support will not only help us, but it will also contribute to easing the strain on our healthcare system and ensuring that patients receive the care and attention they deserve. Together, we can create a positive impact on our community and set an example for others to follow.
