Sponsor Cards To Uplift NHS Staff

HELLO FROM US...

Hi, we're Simone Smith and Sheleen Cocea from Curious Pencil Ltd, a family-owned greeting card company based in the Midlands. We're all facing challenges in the middle of this global pandemic. Many of us are experiencing uncertainty and loss, including ourselves with the loss of our uncle. For this reason, we wanted to do something to uplift those who are working so hard for us all on the frontline.

OUR HEART...

The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a rising pressure within the NHS and other key workers. Staff are being pushed to their limits emotionally and physically. As the UK came together to clap for the NHS, we were stirred to do something more, for those who are working tirelessly throughout this period.

After much discussion with some of the major hospitals in the Midlands:

• Good Hope Hospital
• Heartlands Hospital
• Queen Elizabeth Hospital
• Solihull Hospital
• also several GPs
  
  

All have expressed the need, not only for the lifesaving equipment but for something to boost their staff’s mental well-being and uplift their spirits at this time.

So together, as sisters, we decided to launch this campaign #CardsForNHS

HOW WE PLAN TO HELP...

We realise, now, more than ever, the power of the human touch and that a small gesture can go a very long way. A greeting card is a simple, yet effective way to come together as a community to show our gratitude for all the NHS Staff individually.

We are on a mission to give custom-designed greeting cards of appreciation, to encourage and uplift, every NHS worker within the Midlands, and then to the wider UK! If we exceed our target, we would also like to extend this mission to other keyworkers.

Each card comes with a hand-illustration designed in-house, a custom-written poem thanking NHS workers, words of encouragement and a hashtag (#CardsForNHS) where they can share pictures, positivity or anything to uplift their community of colleagues on social media.

We want to get a physical card into each individual's hands. This is so they can display it in their home as a tangible reminder of how much they are truly appreciated. We have seen first hand the impact our card designs have, which is why these cards can be kept as a badge of honour for years to come.

OUR ASK...

In order to make this happen, full production costs including finishing and delivery will cost around 50p per card. We have an aim to reach at least 21,000 NHS workers in the Midlands alone, which is why we need your help!

We are asking businesses and individuals who feel they can, to sponsor cards to be sent out to our hospitals and GPs, distributed amongst their workers.

Whether it's 1 card, 100 or 1,000, your contribution will make a huge impact in the lives of those working tirelessly. The card will be a constant reminder of how much we as a community, care. It will be a gift of appreciation, to uplift the morale of the NHS workers and together we can touch 21,000 individual hearts!

Your donation today will help us come together as a community and uplift NHS workers, giving them a tangible reminder of why they are loved and appreciated.

**Any profits will be put towards the production of more cards for NHS staff, as our aim is to get cards of appreciation to as many NHS staff as possible. Any profits beyond this will be split between local NHS charities and NHS charitable trusts. This could also be in the event of additional restrictions on business operations or unforeseen circumstances relating to staffing or safe continuation of production.

This is only the start and we want to go further and wider, beyond the Midlands into the rest of the UK. So if you're a healthcare professional reading this, and you would like these cards to be provided to your place of work, please put us in touch with your management team or local fundraising officer.
