Our Annual fundraiser is back for 2026 and this year we want to raise £15,000 to help fund our vital services for older residents.
Our Canoe Challenge is Back for 2026!
Teams will paddle an incredible 25 miles along the Lancaster Canal, with a target completion time of under 8 hours. It’s a challenge that should not be underestimated. Those final few miles really test your grit and determination… but with the beautiful Lancashire countryside around you, it’s an unforgettable experience.
Why Take Part?
Over the years, the Canoe Challenge has grown into one of our most important fundraising events. Every pound raised helps us continue and expand the core services we provide—services that receive no external funding but remain absolutely vital for older people across Lancashire. These include:

- Community Engagement
- Our 0300 Telephone Support Line
These services support older residents who may be lonely, isolated, frightened, or vulnerable, and help connect them—and their families—to the support they need both at home and in the community. We also raise awareness on essential topics such as scam prevention, benefits, and staying healthy.
Why Your Support Matters
Without these services, many older people risk:
- Becoming increasingly isolated
- Being targeted by scams
- Living in unsafe, cold, or damp housing
- Reaching crisis point, often resulting in avoidable hospital admissions
Sometimes, just one phone call to our 0300 line can make the difference. We can help improve living conditions, coordinate support from external agencies, and offer care, compassion, and hope for a safer, more connected future.
