Aim

Please help us upgrade to LED lights. It will reduce costs and improve our patients’ experiences whilst also helping the environment.

What Happened?

In 2015, whilst having our roof insulated, we decided to analyse our energy consumption through an energy broker. We then researched and liaised with Greenways Electrical Ltd to find methods of becoming more energy efficient and save money.

Why LED?

1. LED lighting is ideal for saving money and improving the environment for our service users.
2. Superior lighting will be beneficial for the woodworking and craft groups – groups which are viewed as a life line to many.
3. The rooms will be more welcoming for the various community groups with which we work.
4. The ambient warm light will make a huge difference to the Therapy rooms by generating a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
5. The LEDs will also look more attractive and create a more welcoming environment than the current lights that we have.

Our only challenge will be to ensure that the work does not interfere with our services at the Charity. However, we believe that we can overcome this by having the work completed out of office hours.

How LED Helps?

Good lighting is key and will make a huge difference with the intricate work done in the sewing and woodworking classes. This may increase participation rates for these groups and will certainly provide an improved experience for existing clients. The LEDs will work perfectly in the Therapy and Counselling rooms with a warm light setting. We would choose appropriate lighting tones for the different rooms in the cancer support centres to enhance patients’ experiences with us.

This project successfully funded on 20th October 2017
