Who are we?

We are Canal Boxing Academy, Lisburn, a proud community boxing club with a big heart. For years we’ve been helping young people, adults, and families build fitness, discipline, and confidence through the sport of boxing.

Now, we’re launching PowHer Boxing, a female-only introduction to boxing programme that creates a safe, supportive, and empowering space for women of all ages and fitness levels. This is about more than just boxing, it’s about building confidence, community, and wellbeing for women in Lisburn and beyond.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Boxing has huge physical, social, and mental health benefits, but for many women, stepping into a boxing gym can feel intimidating. PowHer Boxing breaks down those barriers by offering women-only sessions with female coaches, the right equipment, and an atmosphere that’s fun, welcoming, and empowering.

We are crowdfunding to:

Launch a dedicated women’s programme at Canal Boxing Club,

Purchase new equipment and kit specifically for female participants,

Deliver a 16-week holistic programme combining boxing, fitness, mental health, and nutrition,

Train and support more female role models as coaches and leaders,

This project also matches funding criteria around increasing participation, promoting equality in sport, and supporting health and wellbeing in the community.
