CANAL & RIVER TRUST

RCN 1146792, Ellesmere Port

Canal & River Trust is the charitable operator and guardian of 2,000 miles of historic waterways across England and Wales. In addition to caring for the waterways so that they are available for the public to enjoy, the Trust maintains the nations' third largest collection of listed heritage structures, as well as museums, archives, and hundreds of important wildlife sites.

Waterways have the power to make a real difference to people’s lives and we know that spending time by water makes us happier and healthier. We bring communities together to transform their local canal or river to create places and spaces that can be used and enjoyed by everyone, every day.

We are proud to be the custodians of the oldest working heritage network in the UK. Our canals and rivers need our help every single day to make sure that they remain open and accessible to the millions of you who spend time on them each year. While the heritage of our waterways is important to us, time isn’t always our friend. Over time our lock gates rot, our towpaths can become overgrown and our canals can silt up so that they become hard to navigate.

Our work simply couldn’t happen without our amazing fundraisers, which is why we need you. There are lots of ways you can raise money to help us transform canals and rivers into places that everyone can use and enjoy.
