To continue to develop the programme of sustainable activities
Can you help secure resources for our summer community music, recycling, crafts, herbs and health workshops for more sustainable lives?
Our voluntary Committee helps residents, schools and groups develop performances, crafts, films, stalls, health, environmental and local history, children and young peoples’ activities showcasing our diverse collective talents, sharing and strengthen community networks over a celebratory summer weekend.
Funds build on herbalist-led plant identification walks and herbal teas/remedy workshops; the local pensioners’ Shed and Rochester Pottery will be invited to help visitors create insect houses and bird boxes; Beekeepers will offer demos/talks on the importance of flora for bee and insect habitats; bird identification workshops and worksheets for young and older residents will encourage indoors and outdoors exploration during and after the festival; SeeThrough Theatre recycled props and costumes workshops will promote our opening parade’s talent and environmental awareness.
Activities will be supported by messaging from stage performers, films and complementary health therapists empowering residents from a diversity of ages, ethnicities and life experiences with skills for sustainable self-care.
