Aim
To publish a 4 page wrap around the Camden New Journal written from a future where we have solved the climate & social inequality crisis.
This project is being created by a coalition of local Camden community groups to answer the question: What if we created a special wraparound edition of the Camden New Journal written from a future where we have solved the climate and social inequality crisis?
We are inviting people who live or work in Camden to write newspaper articles or create images describing life in Camden in 2030. Imagine Camden has met its climate targets and things have changed to reflect the needs of our communities and the environment. We want compelling stories that imagine a fairer, happier, and less consumption-based society - stories that will give us all fresh and hopeful ways to think about the future of Camden.
A selection of stories and images will be printed in our special four page wrap around for the Camden New Journal on the 7th January 2021. Content can be anything from a photo-collage to a kid’s poster; from a short poem to a full article. All entries will be turned into an art exhibition and be published online.
The money raised in this crowdfunder will be used to part finance the wrap around. We have already raised two-thirds of the money from local social enterprises. We need £1200 more to hit our target and £300 for the art exhibition to showcase all entries.
Together, let’s imagine the future we want for Camden and beyond, and then start to create it.
