Aim
Cambrian Brass brings together musicians from across the Cambrian region to rehearse, perform, and compete together.
Our aim is to build a brass band that proudly represents the Cambrian region - combining the joy of local concerts with the excitement of contesting, as we work towards our first appearance at the Welsh Regional Brass Band Championships in 2026.
Based in Aberystwyth, Cambrian Brass welcomes players from across the wider Cambrian region. We offer a dedicated pathway for those looking to develop contesting experience and reach the highest standards of brass and percussion music making - all while performing for good causes through charitable concerts in communities across the region.
Launching a new brass band takes effort and resources, and we’re asking for your support to help us with:
- Rehearsal space: Hiring a suitable venue to bring the band together every week
- Music and sheet music: Building a library of inspiring and challenging repertoire
- Brass and percussion instruments: Purchasing new instruments to support local players' musical growth
- Musical equipment: Acquiring music stands and uniforms to ensure a professional setup
- Expert coaching: Working with some of the best brass band conductors and trainers in Wales
- Community promotion and engagement: Raising awareness and attracting new members
- Essential insurance and performance licensing fees: Covering crucial costs to keep the band running smoothly and safely
