Callington CC's aiming to increase opportunities for people to engage in sports activities after the pandemic by improving its facilities.
Our Aim:

Who we are:
Callington CC is a community based cricket club based in South East Cornwall. We lie at the heart of our local community and previously ran 2 adult cricket sides and a junior section of 50+ junior members. This year after completing a merge with a local club that was going to fold we will run 3 adult teams. We also host the Isaac Foot t20 competition which incorporates 16+ local clubs every year and is one of the oldest cricket competitions in the country.

Response to the pandemic:
As part of our pandemic response we managed to run cricket matches and training for both seniors and juniors. We have recently merged with another local side that was on the verge of folding. This merge will hopefully allow us to increase the number of senior and junior members of our community to access cricket and other activities.

Community Engagement:
Our facilities involve the local community with local businesses using it for meetings, dog training, keep fit classes and many more. The projects we will outline will allow us to expand this which will be critical in the response to the Covid pandemic. Here are some examples of a local Santa fun run, us handing over a check to St Luke's Hospice and a childs party held early in 2020.

Our project aims:
Callington
Main pavilion and site safety at Callington CC. We have made great impacts over the past two years making the pavilion more accessible to a wider range of the community. We feel this is even more important in the situation we are in now. The improvements we want to make are:
• Add roof insulation to allow better year around use for the local community. This will allow the community to use the facility throughout the year as it will be warmer as well as being more energy efficient for the club.
• Re-floor the changing areas. This will allow us to make it a more attractive facility for everyone using the changing facilities. It will also allow us to clean more rigorously as the current flooring is very poor.

Landulph
The cricket pavilion and grounds in the village of Landulph is very run down and does not serve its community as well as it could. Our aim is to:
• Provide two new showers for the changing facilities and increase the number of basins.
• Make the outside water tight to allow more use of the facility.
• Decorate inside and outside to make it more appealing for local groups to use.
• Clear previous debris and rubbish from site that we have inherited.
• Improve entrance to the ground to make it more accessible for players and the local community.
• Increase Covid secure measures such as wash stations and signage.
The Future:
By improving these areas we can offer more cricket activities for a third adult team and junior matches. We can also involve the local village community in use of the facility so there is a functioning activity space. This will allow more people to be more active in their local spaces.

To complete our project we will be utilising our membership base and community to help complete work by organising work parties, have a strong connection with local groups such as Callington and Landulph parish council and will be using local tradesman.
