Aim

Whilst we've achieved our target, we're continuing to raise monies to enhance our cricket practice facilities.

Caistor Town CC has been a well-loved part of the town of Caistor for 130 years and we've been playing on the current cricket field since 1981.  We are a not for profit club at the heart of the town with a new womens' and girls' group and a thriving juniors' section as well as a long-established competitive men's section.  Over the years we have touched the lives of many families and individuals in the community.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Post Pandemic, with a shortage of funds, and a worn out practice facility, our club needed to recover and reinvent itself.  Through a series of initatives we have in the last two years grown our junior membership both, boys and girls, and developed a thriving womens group. We are helping even more people in our community to be active through cricket.  We are crowdfunding to replace our practice nets which are over 30 years old and are looking really tired. We have issues with net quality (ie holes in the nets and significant wear on the floor) and this impacts on our players ability to practice and develop.

With your help we can achieve our vision of  a new state of the art practice facility.

A new practice facility will:

1. Enable us to give the best opportunities we can to all of our cricketers, particularly our juniors and women and girls to grow their skills.

2. Protect and preserve within our community the game we love by ensuring that participation in cricket grows.

3. Allow each cricketer to develop at their own pace, with enough 'net time' to discover their strengths and work on their confidence.

Look at our tired and holey nets!

How we’ll spend the money raised

100% of the money raised will be spent on a new practice facility.

We plan to replace the existing 2-lane practice nets with a state of the art facility, in line with our strategy to continue to offer the best training facilities we can to players of all abilities in our community.

We'll hold an opening ceremony and celebratory event open to the whole community, whether members or not, to mark the start of a new era and to demonstrate the club's appreciation for the generosity of donors and supporting businesses.

See what our new practice facility will look like!

Community impact

Our club is a community club first and foremost.  We want to be able to have a really positive impact on men, women, boys and girls in our area by offering facilities that enable participation in sporting activity for physical and mental wellbeing, social inclusion, enable competitiveness and to combat loneliness.

We want to provide a facility centred around the enjoyment of the sport, either as a player, coach, club volunteer or spectator. We are always looking for new players, members and volunteers and pride ourselves on our inclusive welcoming approach.

This project is aligned with Sport England's Active Together programme and its objectives to help sport recover, reinvent and rejuvenate following the pandemic, as well as helping to keep our local community physically active.

Our project is eligible for extra funding from Sport England's Active Together Fund. A pledge of £8,000 has been made by Sport England towards our crowdfunder target provided we can raise the remaining £12,000 from at least one hundred pledges from the community.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success! We value every donation highly - whether it's £10, £50 or something even more generous.

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know about your fun idea!

Thank you for supporting our Crowdfunding project to fund a new 2 lane practice net facility.
