Help Allendale Golf Club install a safe, reliable mains water supply to secure our community club’s future.
Allendale Golf Club is a volunteer‑run, community‑focused club founded in 1906. We provide affordable, accessible golf for people of all ages and abilities, and our Clubhouse serves as a valued community space for meetings, social events, and informal gatherings.
A core part of our identity is Junior Golf at AGC. Each year, around fifteen juniors—mainly in the Under‑13 age group—attend our weekly club night from May to September. Supported by four dedicated volunteers, the children take part in coached skills‑based activities before heading out onto the course to play several holes, putting their new skills into practice and learning the rules of the game. Regular competitions in a variety of formats help them progress, beginning with six‑hole events from the blue tees and moving up to nine holes as their confidence grows.
Our junior pathway begins even earlier through our partnership with Allendale Primary School, where we arrange for a golf professional to deliver curriculum‑time sessions. Children who show an interest are invited to the club for taster sessions, and this has become our most successful route into the sport, with many going on to become Junior Members.
Together, these programmes reflect our commitment to nurturing young players, strengthening community connections, and ensuring that golf in Allendale remains welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable for future generations.

Our clubhouse currently relies on an old spring-fed water system which has become unreliable due to increasingly dry conditions. Despite ongoing testing and filtration costs, the water supply no longer provides a sustainable long-term solution
We are crowdfunding to install a new mains water connection that will provide safe, reliable water for members, visitors, juniors and community users.
This project will help protect the long-term future of our club and improve facilities for everyone who uses them.

How we’ll spend the money raised
We’re delighted to have secured £11,125 from Sport England’s Movement Fund to support this essential project. This funding covers a significant portion of the installation and connection costs — but we must raise the remaining £11,125 to complete the work.
