At a fraction of the cost we can reach undecided voters with the truth.

UPDATE: WE'VE REACHED THE LIMIT OF WHAT WE CAN LEGALLY SPEND ON ELECTION-RELATED CAMPAIGNING. ANY FURTHER FUNDS WE WILL PUT TOWARDS THE FIGHT AFTER THE ELECTION (WHATEVER THE RESULT)
Boris Johnson is about to spend a fortune on Facebook pushing disinformation to undecided voters ahead of next week’s election.
We have to challenge the Conservatives’ fake news campaign with powerful, factual and emotional content that persuades voters to turn out and stop Boris Johnson in his tracks.
The guy planning the Tories’ late spending splurge is Dominic Cummings. He did exactly the same with the Leave campaign in the 2016 referendum, dropping £1.5m on targeted adverts in the days before the vote. Those ads were full of flat-out lies but before they could be exposed, the polls had closed.
We don’t think political parties should be able to pay to put fake news on to our timelines. But until political adverts on social media are banned, we have to hold our noses and beat Boris Johnson at the Facebook ad game.
Here at Led By Donkeys we have a plan. We’ve spent the last few weeks creating the kind of content that persuades people to change their minds. We’ve been testing it to find out what works and what doesn’t. Now we’re ready to roll it out with serious money on Facebook and Instagram.
We’ve worked out how to reach undecided voters in areas where the election result will be decided. The more of them who watch the truth about Johnson and his plans, the greater chance we have of stopping him next week.
And we can do it. One advantage we have over the Conservatives is that people love to share our films. That means once a handful of people are shown them they spread virally to other voters. So for every £1 we can spend on promoting our content to undecided voters the Conservatives will have to spend much, much more to reach the same number of people.
Our film exposing Johnson’s links to the group campaigning to let Trump get his hands on our NHS has been shared more than 60 thousand times and racked up more than 4 million views across social media. Now we need to make sure that thousands of critical undecided voters in marginal constituencies see it.
We’ve got more amazing content to roll out in the days before the election, but we need your help to make sure we get it in front of undecided voters on Facebook.
We might not have the millions Johnson has raised from his billionaire backers, but we do have you - thousands of people up and down the country who don’t want Boris Johnson to cheat his way to an election win and ram through his disastrous Brexit plans.
Let’s make this last roll of the dice count,
