Kettle Cooperative want to buy the woodland at Oakwood to host forest schools

by Emma Trayfoot in Newton Abbot, Devon, United Kingdom

The woodland here at Oakwood has been the setting for forest schools, nature connection and outdoor education for over 16 years, and we’d love this to continue far into the future. These woods have touched the lives of many young people, and been an inspiration to those who have worked, learned and played here over the years.

The woods are up for sale and we are doing everything we can to take over stewardship to ensure their continued use as a community resource and home for forest school.

Kettle Co-op will ensure that the woods are co-operatively owned and managed and remain an educational resource, nature sanctuary and shared place of wonder.

We are seeking to raise £140,000 by mid-October. Amazingly we have already secured over £70,000 in loans and donations, so we have made a great start but still have another £70,000 to find.

UPDATE 26THE SEPT - WE HAVE RAISED ANOTHER 20K IN LOANS! 50K TO FIND!

We are inviting donations- any amount, large or small will help with buying the woods.
