The aim of the project is to provide free hot drinks to the staff at the Nightingale hospitals. If we raise enough maybe hot food too.

This idea came when talking with friends about how charities and social enterprises are struggling right now.

Concept

Change Please is the social enterprise providing hot drinks at London Nightingale (more about them further down) .  They're struggling for funding so they currently open 12 hours of the day and there is only so much they can do.  The plan is to be able to raise enough money to be able to offer the staff at London Nightingale free hot drinks when they need them 24/7.  Change Please would love to open at the other Nightingale hospitals as they come online but obviously that costs more, and they can't do that without significant help.

Hopefully this will help get a Nightingale hero a fresh, hot drink, and keep someone off the streets at the same time.

My plans is to get this out on the open and hope that the public will fund it enough so that we can start pressuring larger businesses to chip in.  Some have been good at this sort of thing, but an awful lot have gone very quiet!

Each coffee will help get a Nightingale hero a freshly made hot drink, and keep someone off the streets at the same time.

Change Please is a social enterprise that takes people off the streets by training them to be baristas, and giving them a new opportunity.  They have shops and a training program, but as the shops are closed there is the worry that they won't be able to survive the shutdown.

If this goes well I'll try and tie it in with the foundation that is providing hot meals at Nightingale too.  From my understanding, the Excel only offers cold food and charges for it.

Obviously I'd love to help all frontline hospital staff, but I have no idea if this will even work, let alone the nightmare it would be to try and work out who provides the food and drinks and all the different sites.

About Me(ish)

I don't work for Change Please in any way at all, I don't work for the NHS either.  It's pretty obvious I don't work in marketing either judging by how hard this has been to set up! I do drink Change Please coffee when I'm at work though.

I wanted to do something that helped people help people.  Lots of people buy a coffee when they're at work or out shopping, buying one here allows you to buy a drinks for someone on the NHS frontline, and that money then goes on to help Change Please carry on with their amazing work.  It's a win/win for everyone.
