Time for a stroll! On 31st July 2022, I'll run/walk/crawl one mile for every £20 donated to this fundraiser. More money, more miles!
The crisis in Ukraine is not over.
Rotary International is helping displaced Ukrainians return to their villages, especially in the North around Kyiv where damage to homes, businesses, and communities has been extensive. Rotary will be working in partnership with UA Dreams, to provide a minimum of 300 temporary homes in Moshchun near Kyiv for returning villagers. Each home costs ~£10k and these must be in place by the start of the bitter winter season in Ukraine.

As a member of The Rotary Club of Chertsey, I am hoping to raise at least £500 as a contribution to this campaign. It has been a while since I did any sponsored activities, so thought this cause and this idea might be of interest.
I pledge to run/walk/crawl my way around the local area on 31st July 2022.
How far is up to you! I'll go one mile for every £20 donated to this fundraiser. More money, more miles! £500 would be about a marathon distance (~26.2 miles), but there is no need to stop there. The more you pledge, the further I’ll go.
Note: I may just stop if and when my body refuses to go any further, but that will be the last resort, particularly given the distances the displaced people of Ukraine have been covering to try and find safety.
This video by UA Dreams gives you an idea of what is being done.
