Help us bring Bush! The Musical to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2026!
It's the summer of the year 2000, and American sweetheart George W. Bush is facing his biggest challenge yet - the Presidential Election. It's a big step for just a fifty-four-years-young Bush, but, with your help, we're all sure George can navigate the cutthroat and sometimes magical world of American politics.
We're taking Bush! The Musical to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but we need your help!
'What on earth is Bush! The Musical?'
Bush! is an original, historically inaccurate comedy, following George W. Bush through his two terms in the White House. Along the way, we meet a cast of larger-than-life characters; Dick Cheney as his ever-present sidekick, Al Gore as a moustache-twirling, Scooby-Doo-esque villain, and of course George Bush Sr (H.W. to his friends) as a wise and sage parental figure. With everyone out to sabotage Bush’s hard work at every corner, how will he lead America and solidify his status in the history books as a thoroughly mediocre president?
'How did you make it?'
This musical has been a long time in the making. It was first devised by Vincent Chen in 2024, and he got hard at work writing a musical that has since been described as a "funny, ridiculous, and musically strong satire". It was performed in the Moser 'Subterranean Gymnasium' Theatre at Wadham College in 2025 to great applause and even great reviews. Now, we're bringing it to the largest theatre festival in the world, the Edinburgh Fringe, where we hope to show it to new audiences from all around the world. The irreverent, satirical tone of the show, along with its *banging* tunes, should delight and entertain the audiences in the Lime Studio at Greenside from 24th - 29th August.

Support from this Crowdfunder will go directly towards paying for the accommodation costs for the cast and crew, making this an affordable and accessible endeavour for all. Money will also towards our costume and set pieces as, although we love a budget-comedy look, we want to look our best in Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Fringe is an invaluable experience for us as young theatre makers and allows us to develop our skills with hands-on experience. We are very excited to give our cast and crew that experience, and we truly could not do it without your contributions.
