To improve and open the garden up for public access and enjoyment.
The Sensory Garden was opened in the 1960s and was intended to be a garden for Park Visitors with impaired senses, such as poor vision.
Over the decades the garden has fallen into a poor condition due to lack of resources and investment.
Our aim now is to restore the garden for the enjoyment of all, but including those with sensory impairment.
The work will be done by a group of volunteers, who will work free, and this will enable us to spend all the money donated to us on the purchase of suitable plants and flowers for the garden, and maybe any other works needing doing, such as the provision of better seating or possibly shelter from the poor weather
It is envisaged that the majority of the work can be completed over the autumn and winter, and that the garden will be open again in spring.
