We’ve found the land, now we need your help to build 'The Nest': a calming, inclusive play café and community hub supporting local families.

Help us build 'The Nest': an inclusive, nature-inspired play café and community space for all families, thoughtfully designed with sensory needs and neurodiversity in mind.
🌿 Who We Are:
We’re Harriet and Amy, two mums, friends, and founders with a shared dream: to create a calm, inclusive space where families can meet up, feel supported, and enjoy a cuppa while it's still hot!
We’re both teachers at heart. Harriet is still in the classroom, passionate about nurturing children’s emotional wellbeing and creating spaces where every child feels safe and seen. Fun Fact: That’s actually where we met... over lesson plans, cups of tea, and a shared belief that things could be done differently. Since then, Amy has stepped away from the classroom to train in outdoor education, driven by a love of nature and a mission to help families reconnect with the outdoors.
Together, we bring experience in education, early years, neurodiversity, creative community work, and the messy, magical reality of parenthood. We’ve both felt how isolating early family life can be and how transformative it is when someone simply says, “You’re not alone.”
That’s why we are creating 'The Nest': to build a space where parents can breathe, where children can play safely and freely, and where neurodivergent children and carers are not an afterthought but part of the blueprint.
Now, as an official Community Interest Company (CIC), we’re working hard to turn this vision into bricks and mortar. And with your help, we can lay those first foundations together.
🏗️ What We’re Building:
We’ve secured the land, and now we need your help to build 'The Nest' from the ground up.
We’re raising funds for a purpose-built structure that will house our dream play café and community hub, created with accessibility, flexibility and warmth in mind.
The dream is for it to include:
- A thoughtfully designed indoor play café
- Baby, toddler and preschool play zones
- A quiet sensory space for downtime and decompression
- Low-stimulation seating areas for parents and carers
- Space for inclusive workshops, support sessions & events
- A forest school-inspired outdoor space for digging, planting, exploring and learning through play
- Accessible facilities
The design will be rooted in nature, inspired by Montessori principles, and sensory considerate, creating a space that meets a wide range of needs.
💛 Why It Matters:
'The Nest' is for everyone, but with particular consideration for those who are often overlooked, neurodivergent children, overwhelmed parents, and carers who just need a soft place to land.
We believe in building a community that holds space for every kind of family.
Whether you’re a new parent, a lone carer, a neurodivergent adult, or someone raising a child with additional needs, The Nest will offer you warmth, connection, and calm.
We’ll also run:
- Low-cost and funded play sessions
- Inclusive workshops and support events
- Neurodiversity-affirming activities
- Community partnerships that give back
Because we’re not just building a café, we’re building a village.
