We're raising funds to build strong foundations of a grief charity that provides the safe space young grievers need.
Let's Talk About Loss supports people aged 18-35 who have been bereaved. We provide safe spaces to talk about loss with people who get it and know what grief is like. Our vision is that no young griever grieves alone.
I'm Beth, and I started Let's Talk About Loss in March 2018, three years after my mum Susan died of cancer. Our first meet up was in Nottingham, and now three and half years later we have 34 meet up groups across the UK. We support over 1000 young grievers every monthly with our peer-led meet ups and our passion for talking through the taboo of grief.
In July 2021 we were approved by the Charity Commission for England and Wales as a registered charity (number 1195258).
We want to use this opportunity to grow and develop our work. During the pandemic, we had a lot more costs to pay than we had money coming in, so we need to build our reserves back up. Becoming a charity opens a lot of doors for funding, but since 2018 our costs have increased and we need to build strong foundations that will ensure Let's Talk About Loss can continue to be here for grievers all over the UK.
But who are we? With 34 meet up groups across the UK, there are a lot more young grievers near you than you realise. Ever felt like you're the only one feeling like that? Well there are thousands of other people who also feel alone and we love getting together and supporting each other! Get to know some of the members of Let's Talk About Loss as they share their top tips for grief:
