FDAMH is a mental Health Charity, founded in 1981 now supporting more than 3,000 people every year, with a focus on early intervention and prevention. FDAMH currently offers 10 different services to the public and can be provided in person at our centrally located premises in Falkirk. Our staff are all extensively trained and experienced ensuring our clients receive the best possible service and the best chance of a positive outcome.
Back in 2007 we had 10 staff and supported 516 people. We have the same space 18 years later and now employ 36 staff and support over 3,000 people every year. This past year, 449 people have accessed FDAMH’S Young Persons Service, which is now a fundamental part of our services since its launch 3 years ago. As a result we have more young people wanting to have face to face sessions with our practitioners as they often don’t have a safe and confidential space at home. In fact, 80% of our face to face appointments at FDAMH are aged 13-24.
Unfortunately our building as it stand is no longer fit for purpose and cannot meet the current demand so we need to act now.
Our Mission is to create additional safe and secure Therapy rooms to offer a range of services to Falkirk Community. We are creating 3 additional client facing rooms allowing us 313 more in person sessions a month! This will allow us to meet the needs of our Young Person Service and provide a safe and secure space to get help.
We want our building improvements to have a positive impact on our client’s journey with FDAMH and by creating a new trauma informed waiting area will allow them a positive and nurturing experience from the moment they walk through our doors.
Every penny raised will go towards building new space for our clients and building hope. Through this Crowdfunder we will create:
- 3 new therapy rooms
- A new welcome room/area
- A new training room for our group sessions and workshops
- A dedicated quite room for anyone who needs it
- Trauma informed décor throughout
- Open plan office space for our team
