For years, Norwich has had a thriving comedy scene, but one thing has always been missing: a dedicated comedy club that the city can call its own.

Hooma Comedy has spent years building audiences, developing local talent, and bringing some of the UK's finest comedians to stages across Norfolk. From weekly comedy nights to major headline acts, we've helped establish Norwich as a genuine destination for live comedy. Today, Hooma Comedy is recognised as one of the region's leading comedy promoters and is home to Norfolk's longest-running weekly comedy club.

Now we're ready for the next chapter.

Working in partnership with Bowling House on Dereham Road, we want to create Norwich's first dedicated comedy club venue — a permanent home for stand-up comedy in the city. A space designed specifically for live comedy, where audiences can enjoy incredible shows multiple times a week and where emerging comedians can develop their craft alongside established professionals. Hooma already hosts regular comedy events at Bowling House, making it the perfect foundation for this exciting project.

This isn't just about creating a venue. It's about investing in Norwich's cultural future.

The club will provide:

• A dedicated performance space designed for stand-up comedy.
• More opportunities for local comedians to perform and grow.
• A platform to attract nationally recognised acts to Norwich.
• Comedy workshops, open mics, and development opportunities.
• A vibrant community hub where people can come together, laugh, and connect.

Every contribution will help us transform the space, improve production facilities, enhance audience comfort, invest in sound and lighting, and create a venue that can support comedy in Norwich for years to come.
