We are at the first stages of an ambitious project to restore and improve our building and access to St Peter's heritage in every sense!

Project by THE PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF ST PETER, WALWORTH

St Peter's turns 200 years old in 2025 and to mark this we have ambitious plans to open up our architectural, historical, artistic and social heritage to more and more people in Walworth and beyond! You can help us by donating to the 'start-up' costs of this massive project, and by following our socials on (just click on each one!) facebook, instagram, twitter, and Father Andrew's tiktok, and by signing up to our newsletter. We'd love you to join us on this amazing journey! A man built a stunningly beautiful church 200 years ago - but what happened since then, that's our story!1722870198_st_peter's_church_with_rainbow.jpg

The project will see important works on the building to restore, conserve, and beautify Sir John Soane's best preserved church, making it more accessible in every way! There will be a fantastic, varied programme of activities to help as many people as possible engage with the rich history and present-day story of St Peter's Church as a building, a vibrant inclusive community of faith, and a place of community gathering and memory!

At this stage we need to raise funds for all the initial works and professional fees involved in preparing our First Round Development Phase National Lottery Heritage Fund application: our Expression of Interest was successful a few months ago! And you can help us to reach the next stage!

Your donation at this early stage will help get this project off to a strong start, and will help us mark our 200th anniversary in the most open and inclusive way possible! Thank you for joining us at the beginning of this amazing journey!

We are proud to be an A Rocha Bronze Award Eco Church, and this project will strengthen our ambition to reach Net Zero with innovative work on renewable energy and increased energy efficiency! We are committed to safeguarding the earth, our common home.

St Peter's is a vibrant and diverse church congregation, but we are ranked in the most deprived wards in England, meaning that our financial resources are small even though we give generously as a congregation in our collections. Your help is a real boost and every penny will make a big difference! Thank you!
