Aim

BSYFC U14s are raising money to fund a fantastic football focussed trip to the Netherlands in Oct 2023 & are taking on a 1706 Mile Challenge

We are Breadalbane & Strathtay Youth FC U14s with players from the Dunkeld, Pitlochry, Blair Atholl, Aberfeldy and Kenmore areas.

BSYFC promote and support youth football across Highland Perthshire, providing a welcoming, inspirational and positive environment for all. Providing opportunities to enhance club, team, player and coach development through strong community links is our key aim.

BSYFC are a platinum SFA quality mark club striving to provide and deliver a varied programme of football and football related activities with 150 members and 25 volunteer parent coaches.

Part of the club’s focus on player development is the progression of an initiative to facilitate a trip to Holland for the U14 team. As a result of the Club’s evolving connections with RKSV NEO in Borne, links to FC Twente in Enschede and ADO Den Haag an opportunity to organise a trip combining player, coaching and club experiences is being organised to take place in Oct 2023.

The priority aim of the trip is to provide the young players with an experience of a lifetime – to build team spirit, to develop their confidence and character, to enjoy some independence, to play against teams from a different country and form relationships with those players and clubs for future years to come. This is in addition to the cultural, social and health benefits that an experience like this can bring.

From a coaching perspective, the trip will enable team bonding, time to understand different ways of coaching, the Dutch Way and be able to provide some valuable input across individual and team development.

BSYFC would like to create and develop a longer term relationship with RKSV NEO. The club plays in the Second Division on Sundays and has about 1400 members, of which just under 1200 playing members. Building an understanding of how the club is structured and run, how their youth set up is delivered and what their coaching philosophy is will benefit BSYFC. We would similarly look to provide an opportunity for an equivalent team to visit Scotland.

The proposal is to take part in a football tournament – which RKSV NEO have kindly offered to organise, to take part in combined training sessions, experience some Dutch top level football matches and to arrange some cultural and fun activities to combine with the football focus.

The BSYFC U14s players are taking on a 1706 Miles to The Netherlands Challenge, to raise money themselves towards the trip. Together they are going to walk, run, cycle or swim the equivalent distance of travelling the round trip to Borne. This will include regular Faskally Park Run participation, Hill Walks, local cycles and pool swims.

The players seek sponsorship and donations for the trip and their collective miles challenge target! Funds raised will be directly used for travel, accommodation, local travel, kit, food and some cultural experiences.
