The Cycle is a new contemporary circus theatre show about working as a domestic palliative carer. It is being performed in October at Circomedia in Bristol.
Feedback from a showing of The Cycle at VOLT:
‘A glorious balance and mix of storytelling… very powerful and moving’
‘the text delivered is beautifully authentic’
Tickets are available here.
Drawing from real life experiences and verbatim theatre Liz takes you through her experience as a carer using her circus and theatre skills. This performance is very text heavy, with a lot of story telling. Making it difficult for audience members who are hard of hearing to be able to experience the performance in it's entirety. Having a BSL interpreter would mean that these audience members can experience the stories told in the performance as they should be told.
The £300 goal also accounts for some free tickets to be allocated to healthcare workers. The Cycle focuses on lived experience of healthcare work and other people's stories. One of the goals of The Cycle is to let healthcare workers feel heard/ seen. Allowing them to see performance work that they can relate to.
