On Sunday 6th June, Ben and I are going to run 50km/31miles from Birmingham to Worcester for VaccinAid - to help Give the World a Shot.
Here in the UK we are very fortunate to have a health care system and the infrastructure which is helping us to get back to normal through the incredible vaccination programme. From the painstaking work of the scientists, our amazing NHS teams, those early trial volunteers and now even the people who are giving their time to direct us around a car park at the mass vaccination centres.
This week (w/c 10th May) Ben and I both received our first jabs, well ahead of the announced schedule - and we both feel very grateful.
There are people, however, in other countries such as India where less than 10% of their population has received their first vaccination, where people are dying in their thousands. It is devastating.
To bring this pandemic to an end, a large share of the world needs to be immune to the virus. The safest way to achieve this is with a vaccine.
On the 6th June 2021, Ben and I are going to run 50km/31 miles from Birmingham to Worcester along the canal to help raise awareness and funds for VaccinAid - the crowdfunder organised by UNICEF to help #givetheworldashot
Please support us with our fundraising efforts to help UNICEF deliver 2 billion vaccines, as well as millions of treatments around the world this year. Because we’ll only ever be safe, if we’re ALL safe.
