Over the next few months we’re making a short 15min film called "Bruce", but we need your help!

Over the next few months we’re making a short film called "Bruce", and we need your help! Our goal is to not just make a film, but to tell a story that genuinely entertains and has a kung fu grip on your heart. We'd love to reach film festival audiences across the world and if we won a few awards along the way, that would be great too :)

"Bruce" is a 15min comedy drama set in China Town in Liverpool. Martin is mid-40’s, divorced and out of shape.  When it looks like Martin's 11 year old son is going to move to Spain with his ex-wife, Martin desperately needs to make a connection and convince his son to stay. So he tells him he is the reincarnation of his son’s hero Bruce Lee. But Martin soon discovers that being Bruce isn't easy and telling the truth is even harder! At the heart of it, this is really a story about a Father and son learning to value each other for who they really are.

"Bruce" has managed to fight its way onto Creative England’s “iShort” scheme which means, together with the BFI, they’ve given us £5,000 to make this happen…

However we need a tiny bit more help to reach our total budget and to make this film the best it can be. Our goal is to raise an additional £3,000.

In a film like this it's a tricky task to balance the emotional side of the story with all the comedy elements too. The only way we’re going to achieve this is to find really talented actors who have the range to deliver both (and Chuck Norris is unavailable!).

By raising an extra £3,000 it means we’ve got the budget to approach actors who can master the characters, and deliver the kind of kick ass performances that will move audiences around the world.

If you’d be up for helping us make this happen then there are loads of rewards to choose from on the right hand side of this page, ranging from small and fun to actually being in the film!

Thank you so much for taking an interest and reading this far. We hope the film sounds exciting and we’d love to make you part of this project...

Adam Etheridge, Director

Adam started filmmaking at the age of 12 when he created a regular 10 minute weekly news programme at school, covering sport, news and music. After being accepted into the National Youth Theatre at 16, he went on to act on stage and screen, including the role of Hamlet at the age of 18.

After studying Drama at Bristol University, he set up a production company in Bristol: Aspect Film and Video. Adam has directed TV commercials and online content for brands such as Samsung, Coca-Cola, North Face, Nationwide. Adam’s passion is for combining delicate and authentic performances, with bold cinematic and visual storytelling.

David Watson, Screenwriter

David also graduated from Bristol University studying Drama – where he wrote and performed sketch comedy for theatre and radio. He wrote and directed a Dazed and Confuzed Magazine award winning short film called ‘Sold Out’, and had winning scripts performed at a pilot contest called ‘The Sitcom Trials’.

For the past 8 years he has been Creative Director at Aspect Film and Video & the award winning viral agency Rebel Virals– producing branded content for North Face, NSPCC, Samsung, Microsoft, Coca Cola. He has conceived and written online content that connects with and has been shared by well over 10 million people. He has also written TV commercials, radio and cinema ads.

Despite playing the role of ‘inventor’, he never loses the ability to see the work through from an audience’s perspective.

Show your support, pledge now and let's get 'Bruce' on screen!   If you're not able to contribute you can still give Bruce a boost by spreading the word at work, home, with family, friends and at your local dojo, not to mention on Facebook and Twitter.

Many thanks, Adam and David
