Aim

To modernize the changing facilities so as a club we can offer greater opportunities to all sections of the local community.

The Club

Bromsgrove Rugby Club has served the local community for nearly 150 years. In that time it has helped to instill the values that rugby is famous for into a huge number of men and women both on and off the field. It currently runs 4 senior sides catering for all ages and abilities. The 1st XV compete in the Midland's Premier division which is the highest level of regional rugby before you enter the National Leagues. The Club also has a highly successful mini and junior section that has over 400 playing members from all sections of society. The Club holds the annual North Midland's U12's Festival as well as being the host for numerous North Midland's Seniors and Under 20 games in recent years. It also hosts the England Women's deaf team for training.

Community

The Club has played an important role during the COVID crisis within the local community raising over £2500 for NHS Charities Together as well as £1500 for the Harry Bennett Foundation. The generosity of it's members was also evident at Christmas where the club collected over 3000 presents for those less fortunate as part of the Let's Tackle Christmas Together campaign.

The Project

This year the club had plans to develop and renovate the changing rooms. The current changing facilities are in need of serious modernization because currently there are six changing rooms connected to a single shower block. This means that it is impossible to have a mixture of men and women, or adults and children utilizing the facilities at the same time. Clearly this is very restrictive in modern society and for the club to grow and evolve it needs to be able to broaden it's base within the local community.

The Plan

The Plan is to extend the clubhouse outwards which will allow the club to increase the size of at least 4 changing rooms as well as creating 2 self contained changing rooms with their own shower block. There will also be new physiotherapy facilities and a refurbished strength and conditioning space.

How will these changes help?

For a number of years the club has wanted to start a women's and girls section however the club has been hampered by not being able to offer separate changing facilities. These improvements to the changing facilities will mean that the club will be able to offer a much wider offering both at weekends but also during the week to schools, colleges and charitable organisations.

Why the Need for Crowdfunding?

Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic the club's major fundraising activities over the summer were cancelled as well as Bonfire Night being cancelled in November. Therefore to make sure this project happens there is a need to raise additional funding. This funding will help the club build more accessible, better facilities for future generations and allow the club to grow in different directions.

Rehabilitation and Performance

The new rehabilitation and performance centre will help the club provide better services for injured players. With strength and conditioning such an important part of a young players development these days, the new facilities will allow the club to  more effectively develop the 1st XV players of tomorrow.

Thankyou for taking the time to read the above, hopefully it gives you a flavour of what the club is about and how important it is to the local community, if you would like to donate we will be very grateful whatever the size of the donation.
