Bromley Heath Infant Book Character Olympics

Aim

The money raised will go towards updating our Read Write Inc guided reading books, which we use daily at school in our reading lessons.

Bromley Heath Infant School will be doing a sponsored Book Character Olympics where we will all complete a book character challenge each day at school in our classes:

The Three Little Pigs – Children will build a house for the Three Little Pigs using blocks, cardboard boxes, Lego, wooden bricks and it will then be tested by the Big Bad Wolf with a “huff and a puff”(a fan).

The Gingerbread Man – a relay race where children carry a gingerbread man around a short course before passing him to their teammate.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt – Children make their way through an obstacle course representing different parts of the bear hunt.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar – Make a Giant Caterpillar with craft and junk modelling materials.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears – Porridge Toss where there will be 3 big bowls, baby bear is placed close, Mummy bear a bit further away and Daddy bear furthest away. Children will throw “porridge” (beanbags) into the bowls.

The money raised will go towards updating our Read Write Inc guided reading books, which we use daily at school in our reading lessons. These books are essential in helping to support each child’s reading development. Our current ones have been well loved and well used, and it is time for a refresh so we can all continue to enjoy learning to read!

Thank you for all your support in advance!
