At the heart of our company’s mission is a deep commitment to enhancing the well-being of our customers by offering them access to valuable, recreational experiences. We aspire to create a network of high-quality, well-utilized visitor destinations that promote active lifestyles, support environmental sustainability, and foster community engagement.
Our long-term strategic vision centres on using our land holdings and other assets to encourage healthier living, promote outdoor recreation, and preserve biodiversity, ultimately creating spaces that bring value to both individuals and ecosystems.
We are proud to own and manage a beautiful estate that includes Brombil Reservoir, covering approximately 3.3 acres, with 2.2 acres of surrounding land. Our goal is to transform this unique location into a vibrant outdoor recreational space by making necessary improvements such as reservoir maintenance, enhanced access points, and the installation of secure walkways around the water’s edge. These efforts will ensure that the site is ready for a wide range of outdoor activities, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors.
This initiative aligns with our strengthened biodiversity duty under the Environment (Wales) Act 2016, and we are committed to fulfilling these responsibilities while promoting conservation and recreation. Our objective is to complete these developments in early 2025, making the reservoir ready for the 2025 summer season.
- The development of Brombil Reservoir as an outdoor recreation destination will:
- Promote healthier living and physical activity
- Create jobs and stimulate the local economy
- Attract more visitors to Wales, thereby boosting tourism
- Provide training and skills development opportunities for local communities
This project also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically in fostering environmental conservation, biodiversity, community well-being, industry innovation and infrastructure, sustainable communities and cities and economic growth.
We aim to create a site of Special Scientific Interest, potentially receiving national and international recognition for its ecological importance. This would further support the Welsh Government’s green infrastructure initiatives.
Customer Proposition
Brombil Reservoir 'Blue Lagoon' is situated in a stunning and secluded location, nestled amidst the Margam Mountains. This breathtaking natural setting offers a unique opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts.
Adventure and water sports: The site is the only one in Wales and potentially in UK situated at such a high elevation in the mountains, making it a unique tourist destination to hike and then carry out activities like paddleboarding, canoeing, sunsets, log cabin stays, zipline etc
Our website, www.brombilreservoir.com, has been established to showcase the potential of the reservoir and highlight the recreational offerings we plan to introduce. While Brombil Reservoir is currently not operational for trading, the website serves as an essential platform for promoting the site’s development and attracting interest. Brombil Reservoir is not open to public and anyone that visits it would be tresspassing and also responsible for their own health and safety as we take no liability.
We need public support to make the site safe for people to visit under supervision and also maintain the site which would be only possible by raising funding.
