Aim

Brolly is coming to Horsham!! We're going to build a taproom and create a new exciting venue for everyone to enjoy.

Family run nano-brewery

We have been commercially brewing at our Sussex paradise in Wisborough Green since 2017. (Br)ook obsesses, brews and drinks(!) the beer, whilst H(olly) does all the other stuff (logistics, planning, events, marketing, admin, bookkeeping etc).

We have two young girls who are full of excitement, encouragement, and general support when it comes to our little brewery. They each have a beer named after them (Popsicle and Little Pearl) and are very proud of their namesake brews!

Our drive and motivating force has always undoubtedly been to brew the best beer that we possibly can. We strive for impeccable flavour, by only using the best hops in the world. We create modern and traditional award-winning beers with passion and attention to detail. Our beers are renowned for their drinkability and flavour.  We focus on predominantly sessionable strengths of around 5% ABV. We specialise in cask but also use keg, can, bottles and even growlers!

Awards

We have won many CAMRA awards and we are rated as the no.1 cask and keg brewery in West Sussex along with being rated in the top 100 breweries in the UK. Source: Untapped.

Here are some of the things people have said about our beers (source: untappd):

"Absolutely incredible NEIPA. Hazy, tropical, good hop profile. Maybe the best New England I have ever tasted".

"I just love this stout. Simply the best to me. Now it's aged in the can, it's even better!"

Force for good

We are incredibly passionate about supporting our local community. Bringing people together to enjoy and experience a ‘bit of Brolly’ has always brought us so much joy. Our events have become a core function of our business over the years, and we have (and always will) raise money for local charities. This past year we have supported St Mary’s School, St Mary’s Pre-School, Horsham Matters and DEC Ukraine Appeal.

Surviving the Pandemic

During the pandemic the brewery hit its stride as we began our local Brolly Beer Delivery Truck.  Our following grew exponentially, and we carved our way into the Horsham market with great success. The enjoyment of delivering our beer directly to our customers stays with us to this day.  We reinvested the profits from this initiative to fund a brand new, bespoke brew kit and new fermenters – which were essential to sustain the increased demand!  We have always reinvested profits into the brewery and will continue to do so until we are fully established.

Direct to Public

For a small brewery to thrive, it is essential for us to have a taproom and sell direct to the public.  We created a seasonal one at our beautiful site in Wisborough Green, but for a few years we have been searching for a site in Horsham, so we can relocate to the town we call home. The time has finally arrived, and we will be moving to Horsham in early 2023!

The Brolly Taproom

All the great things in life will feature here:  regular live music and comedy, local food trucks and community events.  We'll have a big screen to watch televised events together and we intend to let local community groups use the space for free too. We will be employing local beer enthusiasts to help us run the brewery and taproom.

Our ethos is all about inclusivity; friends, family and community all coming together to enjoy great beer and Sussex produce, in a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment.

The taproom will be modern, relaxed, and accessible to all. We plan on having a split-level bar, allowing wheelchair users to order and collect drinks, and will be installing an accessible, family friendly toilet. We'll listen and adapt our offering to what our locality demands.

It will be of the highest specifications we can afford as we want people to really enjoy the space at the heart of our brewery. The renovation of the site will be substantial.  From floor to ceiling there is much work to be done which is why we need your help.

Beer lovers and never beer snobs

We are 100% in it for the love of beer and the community it brings.  We are beer lovers and never beer snobs!

We'll continue to champion our cask beer as we still believe it is the best beer you can drink! Alongside this of course, we will also showcase our keg beers and platform other local producers too.

We plan to expand our beer range and barrel-ageing programme using innovative and interesting techniques.

Small pack beer will also be available for takeaway, in can or glass growlers.
