Broadwater Support Group is opening a Community Hub in South Farm Rd we hope to start a Community Pantry & fridge, Warm hub & book exchange
Broadwater Support Group started as a Mutual Aid group and offers out of hours emergency food and works closely with Worthing Food Foundation to provide school uniforms and other support. We have just taken on a premises to use as a Community Hub and hope to open a community pantry and fridge, uniform and book exchange as well as a place for people to meet up and support each other. We hope to offer the space to other support groups and agencies to help them reach those they have been unable to help. The Hub is in its infancy and will be driven by the community and those who wish to help their neighbours. How we started is explained in the photo from an article in Inside Magazines.

Community impact
Our Community Hub will be a place for people to come and meet their neighbours and offer and receive support. It aims to help those who are struggling to manage financially and in other ways. The Community pantry will provide food at a reduced cost and we hope to host various support groups. We intend to work with other support agencies and provide space for them to meet the public outside of the town centre. As this is a new project it will evolve and be driven by the community we hope to help.

We are opening a Community Pantry and need to raise money for food, shelving, fridge freezers, kitchen cupboards, tables, a coffee machine. and kitchen utensils. We also need hanging rails and shelving, cupboards and storage for our uniform store. We will need internet access so that we can provide a working space for those who may need help with online forms and homework. We would like to have a website so that we can tell people what we are doing. We would like to raise money for white goods that may be needed by the community.

We will spend the money on food, toiletries, school uniforms and items needed to set up the Community Hub and pantry.
