To pay for baseline water and air testing at Broadford Bridge to ensure we know if pollution occurs around the site and what it may mean to
The drilling and flow testing using acidisation at Broadford Bridge poses potential risks to our air and water but there is no evidence that any baseline monitoring is being done around the site to ensure we know if there are any environmental consequences. We are therefore raising money for independent water and air quality tests that to ensure we have this baseline at strategic places around the site. The first tests have happened (but need funding) and an ongoing programme will be necessary if the company is given a 12 month extension to its planing permission when WSCC meets on 12th September. All money raised will pay for specialised equipment that would identify contamination quickly should it occur. Evidence gathered could be significant locally and nationally.
