Keeping Broadfield Community Centre Warm

Aim

Rising energy costs threaten to overwhelm the finances of the Broadfield Community Centre, help us keep the Centre warm and inviting

Broadfield Community Centre is an independent charity that was registered in 2014. Prior to charity registration the Centre was a not-for-profit organisation, established in 1980. The Centre is a vibrant thriving multi-purpose resource for community engagement, activity and learning. We hire spaces for groups to provide valuable services, often to those facing financial hardship on a daily basis. The Centre aims to bring lasting change in people’s lives through a range of services, across different age groups, meeting people’s practical, emotional and wellbeing needs. Social inclusion is at the heart of our delivery and we aim to break cycles of disadvantage and dependency. We are situated in an area of multiple deprivation and our users experience a range of social exclusion factors.

Making the Centre warm and inviting encourages people to access relevant help, for example; affordable food provision; a Life Skills course, learning practical tools to help one live well on a low income every day; advocacy work to assist people with disabilities to access their full entitlement to welfare benefits; a good preschool encourages parents to resume or gain employment improving the local economy and reducing poverty; reducing social isolation at affordable friendly sessions.

The money raised will be used for energy costs for winter 2022/23 to keep the Broadfield Community Centre warm and inviting.
