Aim

Every year we rescue hundreds of injured, sick and orphaned british wildlife. We need your help to provide food and medicines this winter

Every year at Care for the Wild we rescue hundreds of injured, sick and orphaned hedgehogs and british wildlife, we rehabilitate them and return them to the wild wherever possible.

Our team of dedicated volunteers give their time and expert care at no cost but we desperately need funding to provide food, medicine and equipment.

With the exceptionally mild autumn many species have had additional youngsters, at present we have nearly twice as many autumn juveniles than this time last year. These youngsters were born too late to reach a weight where they have any chance of surviving hibernation this winter. They all need daily food and care whilst we continue to provide treatment and care to their cousins that have been injured by garden machinery, burned by bonfires or as in the case of "Slick" (our thumbnail image) fallen into a waste engine oil drum.

We care for foxes and badgers, all types of birds from owls and robins to ducks and seagulls, We.ve even had leverets (baby hares) and terrapins this year!

With demand already 50% higher than last year we have pressure on available space for these beautiful animals to "overwinter" we need to provide safe cages, bedding and of course food and fresh water. Some of them will need medicines and this is where we need your help

Please help us to get these autumn juveniles through the winter so they can be released back into the wild next spring. Your donation will make a real difference.
