Britain and the Other 9/11

Hello everyone,

Since we launched the campaign John has done a number of interviews about the film with independent media outlets and we have both written or co-written articles that deal with some of the issues the film will cover. 

John published an article about how the UK government secretly helped Chile’s military intelligence after the 1973 coup in Declassified UK, an independent British media outlet that John regularly writes for. 

We also published part of our interview with Salvador Allende's grandson for the film in Declassified UK. You can read it here.

Watch a video interview John and my father Roberto Navarrete gave for the 50th anniversary of the coup in Chile. The interview was hosted by UK/Iraqi hip hop legend and journalist Lowkey for ‘The Watchdog', his MintPress News show.

On 11 September John and Roberto also took part in a Q&A following a screening of the documentary Chicago Boys at London’s Garden Cinema. You can listen to the Q&A here. 

On 12 September John spoke on a panel with former UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn following another documentary screening in London. Independent British media outlet Tribune has published an article which mentions the screening. Read the article here. 

On 27 September, John published an article in the independent US media outlet Jacobin about the role of British magazine The Economist in the 1973 military coup in Chile. Read the article here. 

John and I will be speaking about issues covered in the film at events on 7 October (Liverpool), 20 October (Sheffield) and 23 October (online).
