ABOUT BRISTOL STEPPIN SISTAS

We are an award winning walking group established in Bristol in April 2021 to enable us to reach out to local women in the Bristol area to encourage an interest in walking and thriving in open spaces. We are a grassroots group of black women and women of colour who are passionate about walking and enthusing who identify with our lived experience to do so.
Why we do it: There has been a reluctance for women of colour to venture in unfamiliar spaces where they feel exposed, judged, and remarked on. This has led to our staying in our lanes.
We regularly organise walks, for those who wish to take short walks and for those who wish to take longer treks.
This is a well needed project for women in the community to be able to walk and enjoy the surroundings in a safe place
Our intentions are to use the money to pay for transport further afield and Walking gear, as the group is struggling with affordability
This project closed unsuccessfully on 12th July 2023
