Full internal completion of new clubhouse.
Full internal completion of new clubhouse.
We need to upgrade our clubhouse and other facilities to help ensure our sports ground is fit for the community and add new sports options.
Bristol Barbarians formed in 1998 and we are nearly in a position to complete our new clubhouse as well as upgrade facilities at the ground to attract more use by the community.
We have one adult male team as well as a Veterans side and in 2023 we also became the home of South Bristol Girls Under 12's and Under 14's teams with more age grades to be added for the 2024/5 season.

We'd like to have more events and introduce touch rugby, walking rugby and women's and children's teams in the future. We have recently become the home of South Bristol Girls Under 12's and Under 14's teams with training every Thursday plus games on Sunday as well as the home base of a local motorcycle community group who use the facilities each Friday.
From Easter 2024 we will also become the home of a local youth education body in the daytime Monday to Friday each week so we have lots going on and need to urgently complete our new clubhouse as well as alterations to our changing rooms and training area.

Covid has of course affected everybody, and that includes your local rugby club. Without games and income for almost 2 years it has set back our plans to grow but we are now ready. We are looking to raise an additional £20,000 to help with costs of upgrades to the facilities and a new clubhouse for next season.
To finish the clubhouse completely will cost approximately £100,000 and we've already spent £70,000 on the build so far. With monies currently saved the additional funds through this crowdfunder can help us reach our target and have the new clubhouse ready for opening at the beginning of the 2024/5 season in September 2024.
Completion of our new clubhouse build, fixing or replacing the boiler in our changing rooms, fixing the floodlights and purchase of new flags, post pads and other rugby related fixtures and fittings for the grounds!
The new boiler itself will cost in the region of £3,000 and the other funds will go towards the new clubhouse build.

Bristol Barbarians RFC have been offered money several times to buy our ground however we want to keep the 11 acres of green belt space and protect it as a sports ground for use by the whole community. We have a senior mens rugby team, 3 senior football teams and 2 girls rugby teams using the facilities across the year. In addition we host a number of children's matches - both rugby and football - and need to ensure there is a sports facility remaining in the area with all the development plans currently ongoing around us.
Help us protect the grounds and facilities, and make it a great green space for the community to enjoy.

Bristol Barbarians RFC is now also the home ground of South Bristol Girls Under 12's and Under 14's with more age grades hoped to be added for the 2024/25 season!
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
