- I'm raising funds to create, publish and launch my middle-grade fantasy novel. 'Sadie the Great Album Cover Heartist'. I've written this book to empower young people. It's a book that allows young people to explore the power of their dreams, discover their gifts, visualise their destiny and believe in themselves.
My name is Daniella Blechner and I've helped over 200 authors and aspiring authors to fulfil their dream of becoming a published author. Now it's my turn to publish my long-awaited fantasy novel I've been working on for over 10 years!
What is the Book About?
What if the dreams of humanity were in the hands of an 11-year-old girl from West Norwood? Sadie Thompson, an undiagnosed, autistic girl with artistic flair and dreams the size of the galaxy, is called to save the stolen dreams of humanity and creatures in parallel dimensions. But first, she must embrace her dreams and gifts cruelly stolen from her after the loss of her father.
Sadie, a slightly awkward, bright and resilient Londoner, makes a vow to never draw again. Battling with a fractured relationship with her mother, who blames her for her father’s death, Sadie is left to navigate a life of neglect and dysfunction as her new stepfather, a temperamental alcoholic, takes over the house. Exasperated, Sadie breaks her vow of never drawing again by drawing a magical land on her wall and finds herself sucked into her creation of a new world -Senarleee. Will her unique gifts and talents save the future of humanity and animals of Senarleee and will she find the strength and courage to visualise and create a new life for herself?
Why I've Written This Book
As a child growing up, (undiagnosed and on the Autistic Spectrum) I felt like a 'misfit', 'odd' and 'different' but incredibly gifted in some ways. This book is for all children but especially for all those children who feel this way. My prayer is that it gives them the strength to believe in themselves and to embrace the hero/ine within and realise they can become heroes of their own world and that their uniqueness can be their superpower.
'Sadie the Great Album Cover Heartist' deals with themes such as the loss of a parent, grief, fractured familial structures and relationships, guilt and loss of identity and self. As Sadie straddles the two worlds, the reader is able to explore underlying themes such as taking responsibility for our environment and consumption.
