Hi everybody!
I am Natasha Rea and I am a Creative from Manchester. I am also the Author of the critically acclaimed memoir Me, Myself and Bipolar Brenda.
Right so…the thing is, I’m wanting to bring an adapted version of Brenda to the stage in April 2023 at the Hope Mill Theatre in Ancoats, Manchester for 3 nights. I know my memoir has touched and educated so many people on Bipolar Disorder and it also brought many laughs and many tears so I thought why not bring Brenda to you in its rawest form.
My aim is to put Brenda in to an adapted stage show. This will be a one woman show starring yours truly.
There are many reasons for the purpose of this stage show; it is to educate, to resonate with, to make you laugh, to make you cry and most importantly to bring us all together and put the spotlight (literally!) on the Bipolar community!
I’m hoping to make positive changes to our community with this stage show as I continue to take steps to help contribute towards those positive changes.
In order for me to be able to pull this off, I am asking for your help! I am asking for donations so I am able to pay for costs in producing the show.
I know we are in a cost of living crisis so I would honestly truly appreciate any donations no matter how small or big. You will never understand how grateful I would be for your donations - especially in this climate.
I also know a lot of us are living in a mental health pandemic. I know this because I’m living in it too. Everybody will be welcome to my play, no matter who you are. Many of us will face issues with the broken mental health system and I just want to let people know they are not alone.
I’ll tell you what though, it will be a mint show and lots of s***s and gigs!
If you have got this far, I would like to thank you so much for reading.
Lots of Love,
Natasha x
