Monster Supplies
Hoxton Street Monster Supplies was founded in 1818. We pride ourselves on being London’s only purveyor of quality goods for monsters of every kind. From Thickest Human Snot to Dragon Treats, our products have proven popular with monsters of all kinds and even the odd human.
The Unfortunate Curse
Due to an unfortunate curse all our profits go to the Ministry of Stories, a creative writing and mentoring charity for young humans. They use this money to create exciting projects such as building an escape room and setting up their own republic - complete with passports and national anthem - to show young humans the power of creativity and imagination. The charity lives behind the secret door in our original store in Hoxton. You can find out more at www.ministryofstories.org.
The New Store
We want to set up a second store to reach even more customers, develop more essential products (Mermaid Eggs anyone?) and help support even more young people at the Ministry of Stories.
The City of London Corporation have generously offered us a pop-up unit at the historic Leadenhall Market, right next to the entrance of the magical Diagon Alley. But we need funds to say YES to this incredible opportunity.
This would be a new monster shop in the HEART of the City of London, a powerful symbol for the importance of joy and imagination, and an essential revenue stream for our small but mighty charity, in a time of real uncertainty.
Time is of the essence as we hope to open our new store next month!
Our Monster Manifesto
If we are able to BRING OUR POP-UP STORE TO LIFE this is a declaration of our intentions:
- To offer a space for monsters of every kind to browse essential products and scare supplies
- To allow humans to enter at their own risk and purchase products when safe to do so
- To champion the power and joy of creativity
- To continue to fund young writers at the Ministry of Stories and support projects that make writing exciting
- To create mischief throughout Leadenhall Market and plan some devious events and activities for visitors and families
