Bring a Library of Things to Winterbourne

Aim

Share Bristol wants to open the next location for our Library of Things, helping more people in South Glos to borrow rather than buy.

At Share Bristol our vision is that everybody shares, so we’re making it easier for everyone in Bristol to borrow everyday things they don’t need every day – tools, camping equipment, party kits, games, kitchen gadgets and so much more. We help people to save money, save space in their homes, and live more sustainably, reducing their impact on the environment through our community-led Library of Things.

We opened our first location in Kingswood in 2021. Since then, hundreds of people have borrowed instead of bought, completed DIY projects, held great parties, sorted their gardens, kept the kids occupied, been camping, saved lots of money, de-cluttered their homes and reduced their carbon emissions.

Thanks to successful Crowdfunders in 2023 and 2024, we brought the circular economy to more communities in Bristol, as we opened our second and third locations, in Bedminster and on UWE's Frenchay campus.

We now have an exciting opportunity to open our fourth location, helping more people in South Gloucestershire borrow Things closer to home. With the space secured at Winterbourne Library, our small charity now needs the support of the community to fund some of our set-up costs, buying racking to help us store things, and funding a part-time Library Manager to help make this dream a reality!
