Wheels and Wheelchairs Equipment & Travel Fund

Aim
Your donation will go towards the purchase of lightweight specialised wheelchairs, an adapted wheel or to fund our overseas racing trips
We use special adapted light weight wheelchairs for all our activities, and we attach a 3rd wheel to the front of the wheelchair. This 3rd wheel converts the wheelchair into a 'racing style' wheelchair that is more stable going round corners at speed.
Each specialised wheelchair costs around £4500 and each detachable 3rd wheel costs around £1700 .
We also need to fund our overseas trips to participate in Inline Marathons in Europe and further afield.
In the past few years, we have done the Berlin Inline Marathon 4 times and the Inline Half Marathon there on one occasion. We have also taken part in the Paris Inline Marathon, the Dijon Inline Half Marathon and the Istanbul Inline Half Marathon.
Wheels and Wheelchairs has always paid the travel and accommodation costs of the wheelchair user who takes part in one of these races, in addition to the cost of travel and accommodation for a carer, if the wheelchair user requires a carer's help.
