On Saturday 9th July from 12pm we are going to have a 24 hour Ping-Pong-a-Thon at the Brighton Table Tennis Club!

by Brighton Table Tennis Club in Brighton, Brighton and Hove, United Kingdom

On Saturday 9th July from 12pm we are going to have another 24 hour Ping-Pong-a-Thon at the Brighton Table Tennis Club. Come and play mini table, mega table, any table, and play as many AllStars matches in 24 hours as is physically possible ⭐

It will be a fundraiser for a number of excellent organisations close to our heart, Isla ng Bata (L'isola dei Bambini), an orphanage in the Philippines that BTTC's Andrea Faveri has close links to, Making it Out, Sussex Prisoner Families, The Real Junk Food Project Brighton and Brighton Table Tennis Club.

Stay all night or for any part of the night. Come back early and help see us through to midday on Sunday morning. We want the club full for the whole 24 hour period.

If you want to take part and are able to fundraise (you don't have to) then you could ask sponsors to donate 10p, 50p or £1 per match that you play. Or ask for an hourly rate. Or just ask for a fixed amount in advance.

If a sponsor is supporting an individual please ask them to put the players name in the comment.

If anyone can play more than 50 matches of AllStars in 24 hours then Tim Holtam will make a personal donation of £50 to the fundraiser.

Where the money will go.

Half of the money raised will go to Isla ng Bata (L'isola dei Bambini)

Francesco Izzo, the founder of Isla ng Bata, is currently most of the way through an epic 6,740km 90 day bike ride from Southern Greece to the north of Norway, raising funds and awareness for the orphanage he helped set up in the Philippines in 2010.

For more information about the bike ride and the orphanage please see here.

The remaining 50% of the funds will be split equally between four local organisations:

Making it Out - a local charity, based in Brighton and Hove that work with people who are in need of structured occupational support to help them get their life back on track. Their primary focus is on people who have recently left prison or are at risk of ending up there without support.

Sussex Prisoner Families - who work in courts, prisons, and communities, helping families navigate the criminal justice system by offering advice, advocacy, information, and emotional support.

The Real Junk Food Project Brighton - intercepting food waste destined for land fill and using it to feed people who need it, on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis.

Brighton Table Tennis Club - prioritising working with people who have least access but would benefit most from playing and being part of the BTTC community.
