Brian has enormous talent and determination, but like many athletes in developing sporting systems, he has very limited access to international training camps, elite coaching, and competitive opportunities.

Despite this, Brian has risen to become Kenya’s top-ranked player.

His dream is simple but powerful:

To become the first Kenyan table tennis player ever to represent his country at the Olympic Games.

With the right support and exposure to higher levels of training, we believe this dream can become a reality.

Brian's story:

“I was born and raised in Kenya in a family of three boys, with two brothers and myself. Growing up, life was not always easy, but my family taught me the value of perseverance and hard work.

My journey in table tennis began during my time at Mwala High School in Machakos County where I first discovered the sport. What started as a simple school activity quickly grew into a deep passion. I spent many hours practicing and improving my skills, and the sport slowly became more than just a hobby—it became a dream and a source of hope for my future. After finishing high school, I joined university, but during my second year my family went through a difficult period where my mother developed a mental illness that she has been battling for the past ten years. My father had to spend most of the family’s resources on her treatment, and as a result I was forced to leave university due to lack of school fees.

It was a painful moment for me, but it also became a turning point in my life. I knew I had to find another path to support myself and help my family.

That is when I made the decision to fully commit myself to table tennis. I believed that if I worked hard enough, the sport could provide a way forward for both me and my family.

Through dedication, discipline, and many years of hard work, I was honored to join the Kenyan National Table Tennis Team in 2018 as Kenya's best player. Representing my country on the international stage has been one of the proudest moments of my life. Through the small stipends and support that come from competing internationally, I have been able to contribute financially to my family and assist with my mother’s ongoing care.

Despite these achievements, the journey has not been easy. Like many athletes from developing countries, I have faced significant challenges. Access to funding for international competitions has often been limited, making it difficult to gain the exposure and ranking points necessary to progress in the sport. Additionally, opportunities for high-level training and overseas exposure have been scarce.

However, through all these challenges, I have continued to pursue my biggest dream: to represent Kenya at the Olympic Games. I believe that with the right opportunities, training, and support, I can continue improving and competing at the highest level.

This opportunity to train in England would be a significant step forward in my journey as it would not only allow me to gain valuable international exposure and improve my skills, but it would also bring me closer to achieving my dream of competing on the world’s biggest stage.”
