I'm raising money to help TIE reach more young people so that we can end homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in schools.
Hi! I'm Brenna, a Scottish feminist lesbian activist (fits on a business card, I've tried) with a passion for equality and a terrible habit of taking on exercise challenges that are bigger than I can chew.
I'm taking part in a TRIATHLON at the weekend, which inspires feelings mostly of fear and dread. The challenge will be a 20k cycle, 5k run and 750m open water swim and I am woefully underprepared. What could possibly go wrong?
To ease the pain and guarantee I actually finish the challenge and don't feign cramp and clamber aboard the emergency yacht (they will have an emergency yacht won't they?? Will there be Prosecco on it??) I am raising money for the wonderful TIE campaign.
It's been a total joy seeing TIE achieve so much, and their work in schools is particularly close to my heart. As a closeted wee lesbian growing up in rural Scotland it would have meant the world to have had TIE come in, to have learned about LGBT culture and most importantly to have learned that it's okay, I'm okay and it gets better.
Anything you can give will be SO gratefully received, and if you can't donate then tips on how to train for a triathlon in 48 hours would also be very welcome.
