Ensuring our community has access to nutritional food, combating social isolation, boosting cookery skills and knowledge of world foods

Who are we, and what is our project about?
Urban Goodies CIC is a dynamic community initiative established in 2021, dedicated to alleviating food poverty, providing nutritious meals, and addressing socio-economic disadvantages within Coventry. Our mission is grounded in the belief that access to nutritious food and education is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

Why are we crowdfunding?
The landscape of food poverty is stark. In the UK, approximately 4 million people face the sustained trauma of hunger, exacerbated by an astonishing 12 million tonnes of food wasted each year.
Urban Goodies CIC takes a resolute stand against this injustice by strategically repurposing surplus food from local supermarkets into bespoke, nutritious food parcels.
Our members are your neighbours made up of families, the elderly, individuals with mobility challenges. Representing some of our society’s most vulnerable.
Our approach is simple yet transformative: we tailor pack & deliver food parcels to the door.
Our cookery classes are unique in that they provide themed sessions, free meals, bingo, recipe sharing and take home food bags.
We strengthen community cohesion and reduce isolation.
