Club / Community and your support....

Bready CC have been part of the local community since 1938. Our last 2/3 years have been the most difficult phase in the clubs existence, as Covid-19 has impacted adversely on the services we provide foremost. During the this the clubs has worked to support the elderly and vulnerable in the local and wider community via it's Sunday Dinner Programme, when our 'Cricketing Cooks' provided 4500 meals throughout the community. We want to continue supporting all of our members and the community recovering from challenges which Covid has thrown-up such as lost financial revenue streams etc. We are a Clubmark accredited (best practice) club and have a volunteer team who are dedicated and skilled to improve every aspect of the club.

How Covid effected the Club.......

  • Through Covid we had to cancel sessions, we lost junior and girls memberships.
  • A number of volunteers and coaches have drifted away and we've had to and continue to work to increasing the number of volunteers to help at the club. This project.....

In 2022 thank to Sport NI and your kind donations via Crowdfunder we started a new programme called 'Back in the Game' which was aimed at getting the youth at the club back playing cricket, but in 2023 we want to add new a new aspect to the club and create NEW Girls Teams at the club at U11 and U15 Level.

The programme will include:

  • New coaching sessions during the week for girls, which will include fun cricket session and fun physical sessions on catching/batting/running/ building confidence and knowledge etc
  • Attending local schools to run after school sessions
  • Outdoor fun fitness sessions
  • Use the clubs NW Warriors male & female players to help support the programme
  • Starting a girls only U11 & Under 15 section who will play matches in new competitions arranged by the North West Cricket Union
  • We are going to work with the NWCU and the NW warriors to help promote the game and develop new coaches

Bready CC require support to develop this project which will provide Cricket opportunities for girls in our community with our coaches attending Bready Jubilee Primary School for After Schools sessions for U11's and club sessions for both U11 & U15 Girls, utilising best practice coaching and equipment eg Bowling Machines, protective equipment, Coach Education Courses,  for our Youth and Ladies section. These items will allow our best practice coaches to work to develop each child in a safe, fun environment.
