To resource staff, volunteering and membership opportunities at Bread + Roses, maintaining a vital community space for Bradford.
In August 2018 Bread + Roses opened a cafe, events venue and coworking space, offering a positive and supportive space for the people of Bradford to come together.
We are a home for creativity, enterprise and community action in Bradford that brings together people of diverse backgrounds to allow collaboration of ideas, groups and organisations.

Bread + Roses is a co-operative owned community business. Our sociocracy governance distributes decision making through subgroups. We aim to develop a structured volunteer and membership programme that expands the number of individuals involved in running our coop, including existing staff and more people from diverse backgrounds.
Our volunteers and members will be rewarded through a new smart card points scheme. This project will create more opportunities that are more accessible and rewarding.
Bread + Roses is guided by a commitment to building stronger, united and resilient communities in Bradford. Our project will tackle inequality by providing crucial work experience and connecting people of diverse backgrounds to allow for a collaboration of ideas. Individuals will gain useful skills, experience and qualifications, leading to further opportunities. Our project enables people to spend time in a creative environment rooted in the community and bring together the people of Bradford.

"What I love about Bread + Roses is they're a community hub set up by creatives, for creatives, acting as a launchpad to help entrepreneurs and artists take their businesses to the next level. Volunteering is a great privilege because there have been so many people who have invested in me over the years and it's great to be a part of an organisation giving back in such tangible ways. Especially considering the current circumstances I firmly believe that Bread + Roses is necessary now more than ever!" Chris Cambell
